Dabas likumi/Laws of Nature

15 Apr

Nujorkas pavasari ienakusi vesa pauze – zied ievas! Pirmkart, es nemaz nezinaju, ka saja zemeslodes puse tas ari ir un otrkart, uzzinaju, ka dabas likumi ari visur vienadi – zied ievas, tatad ir vess!

Nezinu, kads likums japiesauc seit, laikam vienkarsi likumsakariba, bet pec nedaudz vairak ka 3 menesiem NY esmu tikusi pie pirma sirma mata!!! Un beidzot ari savas istabas! Aleluja! Nespeju tam nemaz noticet, ka beidzot mani pulini ir vainagojusies panakumiem! Adresi var sanemt pec pieprasijuma! :)

New York’s  spring has a chilly brake – the bird-cherry trees blossom! First of all, I didn’t even know that these trees grow across the ocean and secondly I realized that the laws of nature are the same all over the world – when the bird-cherry trees blossom, it’s cold!

I don’t know what kind of coincidence is this but after slightly more than 3 months in New York I have obtained my first gray hair!!! And finally a room of my own! Hallelujah! I can’t even believe that my efforts have succeeded! Let me know if you want my new address! :)

Before I have moved though, I can only describe what I have signed for. So, it’s in Brooklyn, about 10 min bike ride to a beautiful Prospect park.

The neighborhood is jewish (so safe!?), the street’s name is a funny coincidence – Kingston avenue, and Kingston is a city where I go while visiting my cousin upstate.

It’s a prewar 6 story building. You enter in a wide corridor where the walls are decorated with pale pink curtains and the sign lead you to the elevators to the left (odd numbers) or to the right (even numbers). And when you get to the 5th floor, you can come and visit me – who wants to be the first? :))
